Should I upgrade the Series I or Series II ?

I am now the proud owner of two DTiVos, the DSR6000 and the HDVR2. I also have a new 5,400 RPM 120GB WD disk. Which DTiVo would you upgrade and why ?

DSR6000 Pros:
  1. Expired warranty
  2. If I screw it up I can always sell it on eBay
  3. Thousands of Series I upgrades can't be wrong
  4. No need to order a bracket

HDVR2 Pros:
  1. Faster Processor
  2. HMO ready (maybe)
  3. Posts here indicate it's cooler (as in less heat)

Is one any easier to upgrade than the other ? I'm moderately technical, feel comfortable adding hardware to a PC, but I know nothing about Linux.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

If you want to do anything more than upgrade the recording capacity you should go with the series I.

The PROM on the series II is designed to prevent any modifications to the software.

Put the 120 in the HDVR2 and add its A drive to the DSR.
