Tru Calling w/ Eliza Dushku

A copy of the pilot is circulating (got mine at alt.binaries.multimedia) and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Half Groundhog Day and half Crossing Jordan, with a lot of Eliza running from one place to another, a lot of running. I imagine they can make a few changes before it actually airs, but it looks like it will be SP-worthy. Not the best quality, but worth a viewing for an Eliza fix.

Thanks, I'll see if I can find it......

Is this a summer or fall show?

Posted by: JYoung

Fall show on Fox....

Bad time slot. Unless FX also airs this show, it is a no go for me and probably most people.

Rasheed

like I said, it is Fox......

She should know better, Fox does not have a good tract record with sci-fi shows. (Except X-Files).

Any ideas on why she picked to do this instead of taking over the reigns for Buffy? They were even going to call the show Faith!

What does a bad time slot have to do with it? This is the TiVo Community afterall. Time slots have no meaning anymore.

It's only a matter of time before some senile fox executive plans a lawsuit because, "We scheduled Boston Public for Friday nights at 8pm, and this Tivoians think they can do what everthey want by watching it at 9pm."

Posted by: JimSpence

And since TiVoians don't care what time slot a show is in, it shouldn't matter to the execs either. So now they can put the show at some day and time and leave it there. Yeah right.:(

I vote for TiVoites.

Of course, you don't care as a person, but your TiVo does care since it may have just one or two tuners.

I mean you may not watch/record the other more popular, higher rated shows at that same time, but if everyone else does, the show cannot succeed. I think Firefly is another good example which appeared to be popular on these forums and most TiVo users (according to TiVo's own newsreleases), but did terribly otherwise.

Beside, how many Tivos are set to record Friends on Thrusday nights?
Quite frankly, Rasheed is right when he says this is a terrible time slot. Friends is going to stomp all over it.

My Tivo may care when all of a sudden in the moddle of November, it says no upcoming episides for Tru

they need to re-run more stuff at random hours of the night to make up for these issues.

It does if you're already recording something at the time...

Posted by: JimSpence

I keep forgetting that not everyone has DirecTV DVR's powered by TiVo.:) Sorry.

If it's a bad time slot and you're recording something then it can't really be a bad time slot:)

I agree, rerun shows at odd hours instead of the infomercials. Oops, infomercials are money makers for the channels even if they are at odd hours.

Which means, if it's any good like you said, it will get no promotion and be killed early on.

That or it could just be pre-empted 10 times a season and told "next season is going to be all episodes that were suppossed to air this season! Goodbye!" And by then it will be too late for Eliza to sign on to a Buffyverse series.
