Sex and the City to feature TiVo

The June 29th episode of Sex and the City will have a subplot that has Miranda becoming addicted to her TiVo when she falls in love with a show on BBC America. At least that's what Entertainment Weekly says. Sounds like the biggest TiVo mention since Ellen Degeneres bought one for her mother on her CBS show.

Woo Hoo, Sex and the City and Tivo, two of my favorite things...together at last...FOREVER! =)

Addicted to her TiVo....hmm....in love with a show on BBC America.....hmmmm....sounds familiar...

This is great. I have one of my neighbors almost convinced to buy a DTivo (and switch to satellite) and she's a huge SatC fan. Now I just need to make sure she doesn't miss that episode, without her knowing that I want her to watch it. :)
And before someone suggests it, I don't have HBO so I can't record it for her.

Don't watch this show as much as I used to, but Friends has featured a Tivo many times. I believe you can see it in the girls appartment (I think Chandler and Monica live there now).

Being a prop on the set and actually showing it's functionality are two different things. The mind of a married man on HBO featured a Tivo, I wouldn't say the Friends Tivo is anything more than subliminal product placement.

The King Of Queens version was better.
But S&TC is high profile. Let's just hope they use the TiVo in a, uh, respectful way. Remember, Miranda: it's a peanut remote. Peanut. :D
So what's next, Tony Soprano using TiVo: "What the @#%! TiVo missed 'Malto Mario' last night!"

You don't have to be saved by the forum for that. TiVo works great with cases like this. I have new-episodes-only season passes for all the HBO shows I watch. It doesn't matter when the season starts, it will show up in the todo list (or recording history) when they are new again. HBO is good about supplying episode information (although you probably want to pad it). Note that 'new episodes only' will still get the next airing of the episode in the same week if the first one conflicts with a higher priority season pass. Even though it is technically a repeat, there is some threshold (1 week?) when it will still be recorded as new. The 28 day rule, which has nothing to do with repeats, will prevent you from getting multiple recordings of the same episode that week.

Right. I didn't have an SP set up for Sex and The City because I replaced my TiVos a few months ago when Sex and The City was showing repeats. I kind of forgot the show existed for a while there.

Never missed Melrose Place or Lost In Space
I've seen each Amazing Race and Without A Trace
But I only watched Will And Grace one time, one day
Wish I hadn't, cause TiVO now thinks I'm gay
