Messed up two drive upgrade with Amset or Powermax?

I ran amset /quiet on my new Maxtor 160gb drive (it showed "performance" as the setting in Amset /check) and then booted it into an old version powermax and when I put it back into my Tivo (as the B drive to a Maxotr 60gb A drive) it is stuck in a constant reboot after it gets to the "Almost there" screen. I checked the jumpers and I know those are correct. Any ideas?

/quiet might give you stutters, but it shouldn't stop the TiVo booting.

Does mfsinfo give you a sensible answer?

Trigger a GSOD. Boot with just the A drive and then reattach the B drive.

what is the command for mfsinfo?

Do I reattatch the A Drive and then wait for a GSOD and then attatch the B Drive?

mfsinfo is one of MFS Tools 2.0 functions.

Boot with just the A drive.

Switch off.

Plug in the B drive.

Switch on.

Wait and hope...

once I am at the boot prompt, what do I type?

Sorry, these are two separate things. mfsinfo might tell you whether your MFS partitions are corrupt (your symptoms suggest that they are). You just run it with the device nodes for your A and B drives as parameters.

If you boot with just the A drive you can force the TiVo to run the Green Screen of Death (the colloquial name for mfsfix). This will probably fix your problem without any further intervention on your part.
