Futurama comments? (Spoilers?)
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

No one started a thread on the latest Futurama? (I think it called "300 big boys" or something close to that.)
I thought it was great! I loved the coffee thing with Fry!
Comments, anyone?

I liked it but it wasn't anywhere near as good as the last two episodes.
The whole Fry/Flash thing at the end saved it.....

guess i missed this one

mmm.. 100 cups of coffee :)

Nope, it wasn't as good as the preceeding two. But it was nice to see, albeit briefly, many of the old secondary characters - Zap, Kiff, Mom, Scruffy, even old snooty man and Richard Nixon. Still funny, still better than 95% of the other crap on TV -
Or other crap being CONSIDERED for TV: http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/display.cgi?id=15492
So is this it? Is this the last episode?

Remaining episodes:
Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV
Bend Her
Obsoletely Fabulous
Spanish Fry
The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings
By the way, the good news (if you can call it that) is that Groening found out about the "hiatus" before it actually happened, and thus was able to make "Idle Playthings" as a possible final episode, providing some sense of closure to the series in case the "hiatus" never ended. Apparently, it really does resolve some stuff, without cutting off possible future incarnations.

"Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV"
Now THAT'S what I call "must see TV" :D

I think it's truly unfortunate that "Futurama" is terminated while "The Simpsons" plods along. There were some good episodes for "The Simpsons" this season like the Rock-n-Roll Fantasy Camp, but the quality & freshness is nowhere near what "Futurama" delivers. "Futurama" is hitting it's stride while "The Simpsons" is well past it's prime.
On a side note, I HATE the new bumpers for "Adult Swim". It used to be "All kids- Out of the pool!" w/ "Futurama" & other Adult Swim show characters inserted into lifesaving situations and now it's this annoying "Read Me, I'm SO clever" deal. Sucks IMO.

Conversely, I love the new bumpers on Adult Swim. Some of the content in them comes directly from people at Williams Street reading message boards (especially the one at AdultSwim.COM - which is a travesty of underage/under-IQ postings) and poking fun at them.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion Vince, and you're not the first I've heard who likes the change. I appreciated that the old bumpers included characters from whatever show was being aired, it kinda personalized it for me.

I loved when Fry turned into 'The One' after too much coffee.

I just fast forward past it. I fast forwarded past the old ones too :)

Excellent . About 110 minutes worth of Futurama-love left. Hope Fox airs them all - if not, look for the DVD in 2004/2005.

well, this Sunday appears to be a repeat of Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles according to TiVo...

Over here in the East, my TiVo sez Nascar racing from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 and then King of the Hill. No Futurama, repeat or otherwise.

I missed it last week (damn Time Warner Cable decided to turn my cable box off remotely, and I wasn't home to manually turn it back on), but finally managed to find it on kazaa.
Good episode. At one time I had so much coffee that I was shaking pretty much like Fry at his 99th. Didn't know that one extra cup would bring enlightenment. :(

The previous two episodes were so damned good this one was bound to be a letdown. I did like how the storylines were interwoven, but it lacked the emotional impact of the last two shows. Still good stuff :D

Apparently, the final five new episodes are scheduled to run in consecutive weeks starting on July 20th. Of course, Fox has announced upcoming "Futurama" episodes and then changed its mind before, so we'll see if they actually get on the air.

Wow. 4 Futurama's in a row. What is Fox smoking?
Posted by: bidger
I see your point Jim, anyone who knows the history of "Futurama" on FOX can understand, but given that this is Summer I'd imagine they'd really have no reason to preempt them. FOX probably wants to clear out the series prior to the Fall season. Gotta make room for more "Oliver Beene(sp?)".

None taken or intended. What I was referring to was the preferential treatment/promotion OB has received and that "Futurama" hasn't from FOX.

I just saw (episode name unknown) from last week's AS, where Bender falls in (and out of) love with the ship (voiced by Sigourney Weaver! - a great in-joke in itself), for the first time.
GREAT episode! The "2001" references just kept coming!
