Stuck at Powering Up after adding hard drive

After adding a second hard drive to my Series 2, I am stuck at the Powering Up screen.

At first the machine booted fine, but it would not recognize the second drive (drive a is a 60GB drive and it said that I had a recording capacity of 63 hrs.). I realized that my new drive was set to master, so I started to play with the jumpers to set it to slave. Since then my machine won't boot. I have removed the second drive and set the jumpers back to the way they were originally, I have played with the cables, etc.. The drive spins, but it will still not get past the powering up screen.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong or what might have happened?

It would be helpful if you could more information about the steps you followed to upgrade and add the second drive. Be especially sure that you correctly set your jumpers and that your cables are snug.
