Record once per day

There are several popular daily talk shows that rerun during the same day or in the early morning hours. I would like to get a season pass that would record the show only one time per day.
What would be slick would be if Tivo could tell that Hannity & Colms or Chris Mathews could be recorded in one of two or three timeslots and pick the show least likely to conflict with my other wishes.
That's asking a lot, but even a little improvement here would be great!

Manual Recording.

Or just set your Keep at most setting to 1. That way you always have the latest one. Use SP manager to organize priorities.

No, setting your TiVo to keep only one does NOT fix the problem.
The fact that the TiVo records certain programs over and over (redundantly) causes it to NOT record other programs that I want.
Therefore, the only correct solution is to get TiVo to know that it already has the program in question. The way to do that is to get episode identification information into the guide correctly.
Seems like CNBC is the worst offender. How do we get them to put the right info into the guide?

Sorry for trying to HELP the OP, manual recording does provide a working "FIX" for the "problem." Yes, it might cause some suggestions not to be recorded, but if you set up SP manager properly, you shouldn't miss anything critical. We'd ALL like to see more accurate guide data, but since YOU seem to have this as your mission, maybe you should take it upon yourself to contact each broadcaster with your complaints, starting with CNBC. Most talking head shows don't provide accurate guide data, since their programming can change based on current events.
I'm sorry my response displeased you - I bow to your superior knowledge.
