Does anyone know when the NFL Channel makes it's debut?

I read an article last week regarding Rich Eisen moving to the NFL Channel that mentioned that the channel wouldn't be launched until a week or two after the season starts.

Is this a cable channel or a Direct TV channel to go along with the package? They surely can't show games.

probably will be just like NBA TV. Scores on the page 24 hours a day on gamedays. NBA TV shows replays of games on ABC (usually the next day) as well as classic games, documentaries, shows, etc. Basically 24 hours of football!

mask2343, I believe that this is a cable channel, although hard telling which providers will carry it.

I thought it was just DirecTV at first, for NFL Sunday ticket owners, but like I said, I'm not positive.

Frylock, it sounds like you might be correct. Aside from the press release from last year when DirecTV renewed their Sunday Ticket contract and the NFL Channel was mentioned as going to be "launched" on DirecTV, I also found this article :

This fall, the league will take another significant step in its evolution when it launches its own television channel, the NFL Network. The channel, like the NFL Sunday Ticket package, will air on DirecTV, but is expected to be on most cable systems within a year or two.
