Babylon 5: Crusade

I've been watching the Babylon 5 series on SciFi, and just missed the run of the Crusade series. Anyone know when (or even if) it will be on again?

Seems to run every few months, they might do a all day run on an upcoming holiday.

Show had good potential, but "TNT's" interfering doomed the show...

I don't know about repeats, but I will only warn you that it wasn't a series as much as a part of a series. TNT canceled it before it really got going, so there are lots of threads that never got tied up or even barely explained. So only watch it if you want to be frustrated when it's over.

And not only that, but the episodes were shown badly out of order, with half-hearted retroactive attempts to jerry-rig the continuity (pay attention to the costumes!), so none of it makes a terrible amount of sense.

I still found it to be enjoyable. I think it had a lot of potential. I especially enjoyed the eps where Gideon interacted with Lockley.

The last time Sci-Fi repeated this aborted series, my wife watched most of the episodes. After being spoiled by the great soundtracks of the "Babylon 5" series, I was often driven out of the room by the god-awful soundtrack for this series. It was some of the worst mish-mash of electronic noise I've ever heard for any series.

If they'd had somebody decent doing the soundtrack and had a year or two to work out the bugs, this MIGHT have been a decent series. Too bad it never got a chance.

I believe that when SciFi runs the episodes, they run them in the "correct" order, not the TNT order.

Do a little poking around on the web, you'll find some info and quotes from J.M.S.

Right, but when they were re-ordered, JMS did some rewriting, so now there is no "right order"; some aspects are set for the original order, and some for the revised order. Thus the continuity (always important in a JMS work) isn't anywhere near as solid as something like B5.

There were only 13 episodes.
Also, watching Bab5 out of order was BAD...but that was because there was such a strong arc.
Crusades didn't have that strong of arc.
I was disappointed that it was not given the chance. It was cancelled due to poor ratings before the first show made the air...talk about a stacked deck. Most scifi shows don't start getting good until season 2 anyway. No chance.

It did have an arc, but first, it was just getting started, and second, it was kind of hard to pick out because it was so jumbled.

The arc was certainly more apparent than after 13 episodes of B5!

The production order made more sense then the original TNT order.

But you are correct that both orders have continuity flaws.
