Voyagers! Anyone?

I remember a series from when I was a kid called Voyagers! It aired on NBC for 2 seasons in the early 80's until the star was accidentally killed on the set of a movie he was filming. Anyway, the series was about world history and I remember really liking this show and learning alot from it. I seem to remember that Sci Fi had the rights to it awhile back but I haven't seen it aired on any channel for quite some time. Does anyone out there know anything about this series, who holds the broadcast rights, if it will ever be shown on TV, and does anyone out there have any episodes on tape or TiVo?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

TV Tome's entry here .
There isn't a lot there. I believe I read at the time that the star was fooling around with a starter's pistol, put it to his head a pulled the trigger. The force from the blank still killed him.

Right. I am pretty well versed on the show and what happened to Jon-Erik Hexum. I have visted plenty of fan sites, etc. I was just wondering if this group of obvious TV junkies might have any info on future airings of the show or at least what network owns the broadcast rights so I can lobby for them to show them.

Sorry. My post was also for those who might not have seen this series or why it ended.

Jon-Erik Hexum was killed while still starring in the later show "Cover Up". "Voyagers" had already ended by then.

I have the WL set up. Unfortunately, there is never anything that matches it. As for Voyagers! being cancelled before Jon-Erik Hexum's death, I always thought he died while working on a movie during the summer hiatus and that Voyagers! would have continued had he not died. Is this incorrect?

No, Voyagers was cancelled for low ratings and possibly for the fact that Wildman's group protested it for being excessively violent (hey, history is violent).
DLTE is right. Hexum was killed while working on his new series post Voyagers called Cover Up with Jennifer O'Neill.
IIRC, they were spies and their cover was that she was a fashion designer and he was her model.
Hexum was goofing around on the set with one of the handguns which was loaded with blank rounds. He placed the gun against his temple and pulled the trigger, figuring that he wouldn't be hurt because they were blanks. Unfortunately for him, the wadding in the blank was propelled with sufficent velocity to fracture his skull and push the fragment into his brain, killing him.
