when u record season pass, will it automatically cut out commercials? if not can you enable a feature to cut out commercials? oh yeah and how accurate are ir blasters with the motorola black comcast digital cable boxes?

no... No auto commercial cut... No way to enable it.

IR blasters are *usually* reliable. If they aren't, there are work arounds. Also, check to see if that box will support a serial connection. If so, use that instead of IR.

i have serial on my box but it is disabled and can not be enabled. what would be the other workaround?

If you have IR issues, try building a fort. Search the help forum for "IR fort". That ought to help you figure it out.

When I used digital cable I had a solution to record shows you did not want to miss. First, turn off the automatic recording of suggestions. Second, whatever channel the next scheduled recording is on, tune the box to that channel using the cable remote. Now, even if TiVo does not correctly "change" the channel it won't matter since the box is already tuned to it. And with suggestions turned off, TiVo won't try to change the channel before the scheduled recording.
Not too many people like this idea, but it served me well.
