existing computer hard drive question

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have an old hard drive that I am not using. Is there a way to format the disk with a tivo boot image or anyother tivo software that will reformat an existing drive and then put the tivo os on the hard drive?

Just use MFS Tools as described in Hinsdale. It pays no attention to what's already on the drive.

what command would I use to take a boot image from a cd and put it on an unformatted hard drive

It's just the same as in Hinsdale except you mount the CD rather than the C: drive. If your CD is secondary slave (as is usual) then the mount command would be

mount /dev/hdd /mnt/dos
