I would like the HD content to be downsized to 480P, in order for todays DVD players to work correctly.

I would like the following:

Cable ready HDTV DVR with DVD-RW.

I'd like the HD content to be burned to DVD in any format that I can play back at a later date, even encrypted to only play on my own box for all I care. My own archive, my own timeshifting (if this makes the studios happy I'll support it).

(actually, i'd just take ANY HDTV DVR with cable support)

I'll take a cable ready HDTV DVR capable of recording 50 hours of HDTV ... but you can hold the DVD-RW ... I have no need of it and am continually surprised by how many people here want one!
