Stuck in setup screen Hell

I got a tivo series 1 (14 hrs) with factory v1.3 and I went to do a channel guide setup but forgot my local call is no longer 7 digits but 11 digits. and TIVO would not let me change the dialing option. So I am stuck !!!!!!

What can I do?

Can I get an 1.3 image from somewhere and copy it over again?

Can I make an existing image of the current HD and copy to another HD. (Would that let me get out of Channel guide setup?)

Need help!

On a side note: I got an other HD w/ v2.5- Can I use this to do manually recording? It was the originals a drive of another Tivo.

As long that other drive is from a Philips stand alone, that should be fine.

Hmm,

all the drive is standalone adn from Philips.

Which question did you answer?
to get image or to make an existing image?

not clear.

You asked if another TiVo drive you had would work in this one. The answer is yes.

ok, i put he 2.5 in the tivo and it boot up but the manually recording option is unavaible because the guide data expire. THe drive came from a lifetime standalone but the old 1.3 is not.

Q: If I make a phone call will it upgrade me to 3.0 and also ask me to subcribe? I like my 1.3 the way it is. I only use it to record programs that are conflicts with the lifetime tivo.

thanks.

I'm not sure of the intracies of this part of the way US TiVoes work. I though that any machine that shipped with 1.3 would retain its ability to make timed recordings even if it upgraded.

If you backup and restore your 1.3 drive I think you'll still be stuck in setup. Perhaps if you downloaded a 1.3 backup?
