Upgraded drive with mfstools, but can't mount partitions to turn on telnet

I went for the whole thing tonight, I added a 120gb drive and a turbonet card to my sony svr-2000.

I wanted to keep my movies, and since my total storage was going to be 150gb I did the upgrade that makes the bigger swap file.

I used
mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hda | mfsrestore -s 127 -xzpi - /dev/hdb

to copy all my recordings etc to the 120 gb drive making it the primary drive.

I tested it in the tivo and it works. Next

I then re ordered the drives so hda is the 120. and ran.
mfsadd –x /dev/hda /dev/hdb to make the 30gb the second drive.

Now I'm trying to enable telnet on the tivo but I can't get any of the directions to work. I can't get partition 4 mounted no matter what I try.

using mfstools cd or dylans boot disk, the kernel boot messages both are kosher, and look ok, but I can't get the partitions mounted. Perhaps the problem is that I don't know what filesystem type to use in the mount command. I tried ext2 and then mfs and image just to see if they would work since it's mentioned in the kernel boot messages for differen't things.

Any help would be great, so I have to divorce the drives to do this?

I tested the drives in my tivo again, all is well with 50 sweet sweet best quality hours. and my old recordings are there.

I've tried the mfstools cd, with byteswapping boot parameters and without, I've tried Dylan's boot disk, and Kazmysers boot cd. none of the are able to mount any partitions.

Currently I have my primary tivo drive connected as hdc
dylans disk reports on all the partitions 1-13

hdc1 bootstrap1 image
hdc2 kernel 1 image
hdc3 root1 ext2
hdc4 bootstrap2 image
hdc5 kernel 2 image
hdc6 root2 ext2
hdc7 linux swap
hdc8 /var/ ext2
hdc9 mfs application redion MFS
hdc10 MFS media region MFS
hdc11 Ner MFS Applicaiton MFS
hdc12 New MFS Media MFS
hdc13 Extra Apple_free

I think that my hdc3 is what people are taling about with hdX4 but I can't mount hdc3 either.

I can't find any word of other people having this problem, or anything special for mounting partitions in a MFSadded volume set

Actually, all those partition numbers are off by one.

Your root partitions are hdc4 and hdc7. You would not expect both of them to mount on a freshly restored disk.

Try mounting hdc7 under Dylan.

Yeah I know, any idea why that's the case?
I can only guess it's from using mfstools to backup all the streams to the new hard drive.

I'm not sure when this started, but when I try to mount the partitions on my primary drive with Dylan's I get errors, like you would see if the drive or the cable has gone bad.

DataRequest Errors and DriveStatusError

On boot dylan can see the partitions as listed in my previous post. The drive still works in my tivo. and my cables aren't bad, I've tested them and I've swapped them out.

Yes; stupidity.

On the part of the person who wrote the patch for putting the partition numbers at the ends of the lines preceded by a CR and on your part for not noticing that.

I would run the manufacturer's diagnostic on the drive to see if you've got an incipient problem.
