can't telnet. When I startup my tivo, my rc.sysinit file is overwritten. I have ran kill_initrd file disable, but then my tivo gets stuck on powering up. I have waited 30 minutes and even an hour for the startup to complete, but nothing. So I ran kill_initrd enable and that fixed my powerup, but then again my rc.sysinit file gets overwritten so I can't telnet. So I have read about tivoflash, what does it do?

By the way, I have a Philips DSR6000 Directivo Series 1 running version 3.x software.

I don't know whether to run tivoflash to fix my telnet problem, or do I create my rc.sysinit.author file and put my telnet startup line in it? I would need to create rc.sysinit.author anyway for ftp and tivoweb, etc.
