Wow - McNulty was in prime form. In his alcohol fueled state, was he trying to recreate the car accident, or was he trying to kill himself? And was that blood all over the pillow the next morning, or was it some sort of flower pattern?
Just watching the show gets me a contact buzz from all the booze!
Having grown up in Baltimore in the 70s/80s, I appreciated the Captain Cheaspeake reference. For the uninitiated, Captain Chesapeake was a children's show hosted by a seacaptain on a really bad set. He would play cartoons and various other short bits, and he would announce kids birthdays and chat with his seamonster sidekick. Not unlike Captain Kangaroo I suppose.
How could they pick Ziggy's quote for the beginning, instead of using Kima's "It takes a whore to catch a whore." comment when McNulty walked in.

I think he was upset over having missed the street, and was determined to go back and get it right. Which, I think, is a very drunken thing to do!
I'm loving this show more and more...

Another great episode. Glad to see McNulty back. The look on his face and comment when everyone looked at him as he walked in the door was great. Classic McNulty.
Honestly I wasn't sure what McNulty was doing when he backed the car up. I figured he was either so drunk he decided he was going to try the turn again or he was trying to damage his car on the side to make it look like a hit and run. Probably neither. Someone else will know.
Definitely blood on the pillow.

I have know idea what McNulty was doing. Weird. But that was blood; the waitress asked what happened to his hand. I think he hurt it during the second car crash when the passenger window broke.
Thanks for the Captain Chesapeake reference. I just sort of thought it was a genereic reference.
The quotes this year have a very random feel. A couple of episodes ago they choose "They used to make steel over there, no?" Not very quotable, if you ask me.
Now, what in the world was Ziggy's motivation in bringing the duck to the bar? Boy, there's a joke just waiting to happen: guy walks into a bar with a duck...
Also, Daniels is being awfully passive. Whatever they ask for, they get.
My only real complaint about this episode is that there is too much going on. It seems like they tried to cram a lot of little setup devices into this episode. It might be hard connecting all the dots now that there's only a few episodes left.

He missed the street and was going back for a second try.
As evidenced by him getting out of the car, and moving his hands in a sweeping motion, as if to indicate the path that he should have taken, would be trying to take.
As for killing himself, he wasn't even going that fast. Airbags didn't go off, and it wasn't even a head on impact. So no, I doubt he was trying to off himself.
"Get me some eggs will ya."
BTW, the seeing eye duck was hilarious.

It's ziggy, lol, sometimes I hate him, but then he goes and pulls some funny stuff.

Sure looks like Nick is trying to become a serious playa. I said it before, cousin or no, Zig would get a straight up beatin from me.
Other random thoughts:
Love how both sides think they know something, when they only know half the story. We'll see who catches on first.
Never know where this show is going, but I love the ride.
The port cop is not bad looking. And Rhonda can be hot at times.

I think Ziggy was doing the whole duck thing to take attention away from what happened with Maui. Better to have them laugh with me than at me.

The cool thing is, the good guys know enough that's right to get them on the right track, but they know enough that's wrong to throw off the union guy when he tries to figure out what they know...

True, he wasn't going fast, but I doubt his POS car (Corsica?) even has airbags!
The actors of The Wire are very convincing when it comes to playing drunk!

Cavalier, I believe.

After watching on Sunday I wanted to ask something but my memory of it is very unclear.
What was the very last line of the show. After the Frank left the Greek then the younger guy said something. I replayed it 4 or 5 times but I could not figure out what he said.

I was going to replay it with captions but was too lazy. I don't believe it was English.

The line (which I too assume was Greek) didn't show up in the captions. Guess the captioneer was as clueless as we were.

To me the tone of what was said and the look on The Greek's face was enough. I was still curious to see if I could caption it to see what it translated to.

My captions showed "speaking Greek."
