Yesterday I gave a thumbs down to a 4-hour block of "TV Guide" that my TiVo had in its suggestion folder. It is a total surpise to me that the suggestion engine would match guide channels with anything.

Maybe it didn't like what you've been watching and was suggesting you find something now

It's never suggested the TV Guide channel to me, but sometimes my TiVo will record rediculously long blocks of certain shows. One day I woke up to find that it had recorded 3 straight hours of The Cosby Show in the middle of the night. I suppose that a good sitcome is better than the TV Guide channel, though.

Mine has recorded the Weather Channel. While it's true that we often change to it briefly to check up on the forecast, no need for hour-long blocks of it in Now Playing....

Some time ago my TiVo would regularly record the news from Japan (in japanese, of course) on an international channel. :)

Once TiVo suggested "To be announced"

If you watch news shows, it will start suggesting news blocks. It does need some tuning up. If I put any animation on my SP, I seem to get kids shows. I have been getting endless repeats of Mash so I finally put thumbs down on Mash.
Though it recorded that weird Spiderman off of MTV and boy that is the weirdest animation I have ever seen.
