I am trying to install turbonet on a Phlips SA with 1.3.0-04-037-000. When I run nic_install from the CD and select 0 to write out changes, it gives me an Error - Unable to find complete string under 'Updating Startup Script' (everything above that has Complete under it).

I haven't been able to find any other posts with this problem, what can I do?

Hi,

Ok, the error is due to running v1.3...

run nic_install and take note of the 'active root partition' - it will either be /dev/hdc4 or /dev/hdc7 (assuming it is master on the secondary controller).

Quit and run the folloing commands:

mkdir /mnt/tivo
mount /dev/hdc4 /mnt/tivo
[replace hdc4 with hdc7 if appropiate]
echo "echo \"rc.sysinit is complete\"" >> /mnt/tivo/rc.d/rc.sysinit
[make 100% sure you type >>]
umount /mnt/tivo
/nic_install/nic_install turbonet

I don't know if this is an issue with everyone - but the phrase "rc.sysinit is complete" was mispelled in my rc.sysinit file - it was spelled as follows

echo "rc.sysynit is complete"

Just in case anyone has a similar problem.
