My girlfriend tried to update the channel lineup (god knows how) and when I found the Tivo it was in the phone setup and configuration area. Problem is, I don't use the phone to dial up (have it hooked up to a wireless network), but I cannot get out of the phone setup area and even when I hook up a phone line, the call fails. If I reboot, I get stuck in the same cycle, no other options, nothing.

Any one have any idea what's going on here???

This is a Stand Alone (SA) TiVo, right? It's generally a good idea to list what equipment you're using. Possibly a better forum to ask in would be the TiVo Help Center.

Problem solved. System was in guided setup and (according to Tivo) should only use a phone line to make the initial call in guided setup. Had to manually enter a new local number to dial in the phone prefix section and it worked.

Well, you don't really need a new one, but I would look into upgrading the firmware of the current model. :)

I usually reserve the "software" upgrades for her, and the "firmware" upgrades for me!
