How will VPN/firewall affect HMO?

I have a VPN configured on my home PC along with a firewall so I can access my company's network from home? This has not appeared to cause me any problems accessing other sites on the internet but I just want to make sure I won't have any problems with TiVo once my HMO is activated (still waiting).

VPN clients *can* be configured in a blocking mode that will not allow the Tivo service to accept connections. This may not be the case with your client, but it is something to keep in mind if things go wrong. Blocking mode is something that is usually initiated when the VPN is connected, and not when it idle.

My HMO took a day and a half to get updated on my Tivo.... Definately put a buzz kill me... ;)

It's quite possible that you are accessing the other sites through the VPN. I know that when I have my machine connected through VPN to work, all my internet traffic goes down that pipe, even though it doesn't need to. I haven't bothered setting up any more advanced routing because it's usually unneccessary, you may need to in order to access the TiVo on your LAN though.
