Land Rover's G4 Challenge to air on OLN

The Land Rover G4 Challenge will be shown on the Outdoor Life Network Sunday, Aug. 24 at high noon. For those familiar with the Camel Trophy adventure races of the late '80s and early '90s G4 should be similar in nature but I don't expect the participants in G4 to stop at checkpoints and build a school for the local African (I'm being general here as I forget the exact countries) community.:( Still, G4 promises to be very interesting.
I have been very impressed with OLN's programming of late:
Tour de France
No Boundaries
U.S. Army's Combat Sniper Challenge
Running of the Bulls
G4 Challenge

OLN's description of G4 Challenge:
The Land Rover G4 Challenge is the ultimate global adventure. It offers men and women from 16 nations the opportunity to match strategy, stamina and skill in an awesome 4x4 driving and multi-sport challenge. Working in bi-national teams, competitors are matched against each other in four consecutive stages, spanning four time zones. The Challenge unfolds in both urban and remote areas, with one competitor, representing one nation, ultimately emerging as the Challenge winner.
I believe that G4 is a two-part series, airing on Sunday at 3 PM / ET. OLN schedule for G4 Challenge .
Catch It if You Can....

Almost impossible to believe how badly they f'ed this up. Almost no good footage of LRs doing what they need to do and even when they do show the car, they have it edited into micro bites that make it seem like and MTV editor on speed was in charge. The fun of watching a LR in the off-road is watching a good drive work them out of really horrible stuff. In the first episode there was lots of shots of people bungeying but very few good shots of driving.
What an utter disappointment. I've seen and have some videos of the Camel Trophy races and this video pales in comparison.

I've only seen about 15 min. of the 1st episode and I can "feel" the Mark Burnett (Survivor, Restaurant, etc.) "Touch" - -the televised show(s) do appear to be a bit of a disappointment, if Camel Trophy is your yardstick. It's a bit of a shame that this is airing on OLN, which is not very well known for it's offroad vehicular activities.
