HDVR2 stops responding to remote and TiVoWeb

I've hacked my TiVo to connect over USB and all is working great, however recently I've had my TiVo stop responding to controls.
The remote will not have any effect (the light on the TiVo doesn't even flicker) And, I can't get into TiVoWeb to control the TiVo that way. I can keep watching the show that I was watching, but of corse not select a new one. And, TV shows continue to be recorded. Normally I can telnet in and tell the TiVo to reboot, but last night when I tried it wouldn't establilsh a telnet session.

Any ideas what would cause this?

Everything comes back to normal.

That's what I thought.

You might be coming upon the 3.1 EventSwitcher bug or some exacerbation of that problem.

If you're interested in installing a "safe_reboot" script, that will reboot your tivo on a schedule that will possibly prevent that from happening at inopportune times, check the other forum.

When you get there, search for safe_reboot, and load it into cron.

I think that will solve your problem.
