What collects dust in your Now Playing?

I don't mean old reruns and movies that you keep around for the really slow days. I'm talking about new (to you) episodes of shows that you really get into, when you actually watch them, but for whatever reason, it's tough to get worked up enough to start watching them.
Right now, mine are Monk and Dead Like Me. Monk's been a little off this season, but it's always been one of those shows that I've had to be in the right mood to watch. DLM is a puzzler because I absolutley love it when I'm watching it, and I'm left looking forward to the next one, but I lose that by the time there is a next one.

I still have the last episode of Felicity and the last 4 episodes of Ed to watch. I can't get motivated to watch 1 hour shows, even when they only take 45 minutes to watch.

Believe it or not, I have all of last season's The Shield sitting unwatched. It's not that I don't want to watch them, exactly--it's just that I know that once I start I won't want to stop and I haven't had 10 hours free all at once.
In the "just can't get ramped up" category is Monk and CSI. I always enjoy them--just aren't always in the mood.
And Samsara? You should stop by more than once a month. :D

I have a nice supply of Monk waiting for me right now...
I was collecting "Peacekeepers" from USA, but finally watched about 15 minutes and decided, eh, not for me, and deleted what I had and the ARWL I had set up.
MI-5. Heard good things, haven't been in the mood. I'm sure they'll get deleted once Fall TV starts.
West Wing. The old ones just started showing on Bravo, but I've only watchted the Pilot so far. 5 more eps to go, with more coming this week.

B5. Law and Order, Seinfield

I have ten episodes of Roswell sitting on my Tivo waiting for SciFi to completely run through the first season. Then I buy a DVD recorder and figure out how to properly burn it onto DVD format.

I have ALL of 24's second season waiting ... because I haven't finished watching the first season on DVD yet. (I've become so accustomed to Tivo, it's hard to get into a DVD frame of mind!)

I have Jeremiah waiting because I haven't been in the mood for it.
I often let things build up just because I prefer to watch them one after another than have it stretched out to one a week. I watched all of the last season of West Wing after the season was over. I also put Buffy and Angel on hold when they announced that Buffy was definitely ending. I just wasn't ready to deal with it being over yet. We finally watched all of Buffy and Angel at the end of July.

Ditto MI-5. I also collected about seven Red Caps before quickly skimming the pilot and deciding that I just couldn't afford to enjoy it and then try to play catch up. Those two hour pilots are killers.
Lori, it's not that I don't enjoy posting once I've started, it's just hard to get ramped up in the first place. Besides, it's only been three weeks. :)

Yes, well...I'm only a couple hundred posts away from you, my friend, and I don't *want* to catch you. If I were to surpass the Great, the TAFKA TGIF, nee TGAF, TMHRRFHRMoTCoT Samsara, it might just force me into a catatonic state.
You can keep up with me--I only post 2.08 times a day. :)

I still have 7 episodes of 24 to watch for this season. What puts me off is I don't have the finaly I don't think FX ever had it. I always recorded it on FX because when it was airing I didn't have locals for my sat like I do now.

Children of the Dune parts 2&3

Law & Order Criminal Intent - I eventually deleted them.
I also have a ton of 30-Minute meals on the bedroom TV. I do watch them - just not that often, and will delete and episode if it doesn't sound like something I would eat.

I had 25 X-Files episodes and this weekend I got it down to 14. I quit watching around the sixth season and am now getting the ones I missed.

First Wave, because it can get boring.
Peacemakers, not in the mood yet.
Out of Order, see First Wave.
I did have Dead Like Me stored for 5 eps, but once I started watching, I fell in love with it. Now there are none on the Tivo :(

Taken.........waiting for a free weekend to watch it all at once.

I'm having trouble getting in the Monk mood this year too.
I also like Dead Like Me but they have to wait for the right mood. Kind of a downer so I am careful of where I am before I watch them.
The other main thing cluttering up my now showing is Fox's Hour of Stars. I have five of them unwatched. Some are great and some are a waste of time so I tend to let them sit until I need the space. Some interesting people in them. Lot of older movies stars at the ends of their careers and some younger ones before they made it into bigger arenas.

I have two Monks from earlier this season I still need to watch.
Had two peacekeepers, but I watched one episode last night.
A couple of Keen Eddie's - Just haven't been able to get into it.
I am always backed up on episodes of CSI.

We did this too, and just watched it a few weeks ago. I had thought that only the first episode was two hours and the rest were one. Instead they were each two hours. It took forever.

The last six episodes of Roar.

I've got a bunch of ER episodes lying in wait for me. Just never get around to sitting down to watch them.

Though I can't imagine why, I sit on a few episodes of The Dead Zone, but always regret it once I start watching them.

SciFi is replaying them starting next month, one episode a week. Though on a crowded Sunday night.

"How's that work?"
I really like the show, but its just not something that ever sounds exciting to watch. I always end up watching them when I have absolutely nothing else to watch, but then end up wondering why.

I don't have a build up of TV shows, but I do have a lot of movies I've recorded off HBO and the like. The oldest one is 'Fatal Attraction', which I recorded 2 years ago this month. Believe it or not, I've never seen the movie. That's why I don't delete it. I feel I have to watch this movie, but I just can't get in the mood.
In second place is 'Dances with Wolves'. It's been on my TiVo for almost 2 years and I've also never seen it.

Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit often pile up during the season. Both are great once I start to actually watch, but getting in the mood is difficult sometimes. <rant reconsidered and omitted>
Posted by: David Platt
Inside the Actor's Studio and Trading Spaces both pile up for me. I really like both shows, but I have to be in a certaing mood to watch either of them. I usually save them for while I'm riding my stationary bike, because any distraction is welcome then... ;)

It's not that I couldn't get worked up to watch them, but that I waited until I had time where I would be inturrupted while I watched an episode...then, after it was canceled, I held onto them to be able to savor each show....
Now, I'm down to the season(series) finale.

I let all three parts stay there for months before just deleting them. :)

I'm often slow to watch longer shows. When I see a 1 hour show I think "Great, I was planning to sit here awhile anyway". When I see a 3 hour movie, I know I'm not going to sit there that long, so I look for something shorter.

I have every episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm in Now Playing right now, whether I've seen them or not. HBO is rerunning 2 a week. It gets a little intimidating when one show takes up 3 pages of your now playing list. I started the same thing with Sopranos III as I have the DVDs of I & II.
I had all of "Keen Eddie" backed up but decided I'd never watch them all and when I heard it was cancelled figured "why bother" so I deleted them today.
I have basically been watching nothing but "Monk" and "The Wire" this summer, Last Comic and Scrubs reruns with the GF and she watches only SATC.
Love rerun season - finally getting out on the bike!

I've got some Law and Order Criminal Intent and some of the L&O reality show (can't remember the name).

It's The Dead Zone for me. I have the last 4 eps in Now Playing waiting there for me. I really enjoy the show, but I always have a tough time getting started with it. I always feel like I want to watch something else.

I've got the last two episodes of Boston Public I haven't watched, and I don't know if I'll watch them. The show just went downhill this year.
I've still got episodes of CSI:Miami and Fastlane that I need to get to, but haven't been motivated to watch.
Edit: Oh yeah, I got the SP for "The Restaurant" and haven't seen the last episode and don't know if I'll watch next week's episode just because I got fed up with the show.

Sopranos and Larry Sanders Show. Especially Larry Sanders. It airs so often on Bravo, I'll look on my now playing list and there are like 6 new episodes there.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Ditto. It's probably taking up a lot of space.

All of this season's Monk and The Wire plus haven't even started MI-5 to know if its good or not.
Posted by: jackm1249
I don't usually keep shows too long, but I do have some DVD movies that I recorded that I haven't deleted yet. I do have a local newscast saved, only because they interviewed my sister on it.

MI-5 rocks! Watch it!

The dead zone
I usually watch it a couple of weeks after it has aired. I basically save it for a rainy day.

I thought "Taken", especially the first five parts, was superb. Find the time, check it out. This was one that I had to watch right away if I was going to, because it was 20 hours of material and I only have a 30 hour TiVo!
