Turbonet problem

My tivo Stand-alone ( Philips HDR-312) was having trouble a few weeks back (it was hot that week) and since then I noticed that Turbonet stopped working. My router doesn't show it on the DHCP table anymore and the lights are always on (link, collision/full, and 100M). The link light on the Turbonet is always on.
I messed around inside and have since then messed up the system, but now it's back up and working. I did buy this system already altered with the turbonet in it and it's been working ok for the two months before this problem, but I've learned to leave the cover off as air circulation is key on this system it seems. I've checked both the internal ethernet cable and external one with my cable tester. I haven't started to take the hard disks off and mount them on a Linux system to see what is going on but this still seems more like a hardware issue than a software one at this point. However, I really don't have the experience to on this system.
What could be wrong with it? What do I need to collect more info or fix this?
Possible helpful bit of information: I recently had to change my DHCP base from 192.168 to 100.10.10. I don't think that should cause a problem, but who knows at this point.
