I recently restored an image I obtained to a new harddrive since my original Tivo drive failed. I have my TIvo up and running with the new 120G drive in it and everything is working fine -- I thought -- until I tried to record a show. The real-time buffer works fine -- I can pause rewind and fast-forward, but if I hit RECORD in the middle of the show, it prompts me but then when I hit select, it shows the little clock in the upper right corner of the screen for a second and then returns to normal -- no RED LED on the front panel or anything. When I try to change channels, not prompt that a recording is in progress.

Did I mis something in the process of retoring/upgrading?

Please help.

Perhaps you need to do a Clear and Delete Everything reset?

Thanks! I did a full reset with delete etc and after letting the thing process for 8 hours the recording now works. I had gone through the process initially, but unplugged the unit to move it from my test TV to the living room -- without giving it the processing time it needed. It says "Do not unplug the Tivo during this time . . .". I ignored this the first time. That must be what my problem was.

Anyway, I'm back in business 100% thanks to you and others in this forum!!
