Last night's episode was hilarious!!!
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
the entire conversation about the teabagging had me in tears.. So funny. Samantha gets the best lines on this show!
Also Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
Carrie's friend's reaction to the stolen shoes enfuriated me! I don't know how she could offer to pay for the shoes and then tell her that it was too much to pay for shoes. Totally wasn't her judgment to make!
So, anyone else have thoughts to share about the ep?

Miranda still has her TiVo. :D
Posted by: tms317
True. Loved that her TiVo didn't just disappear after that one ep

Her TiVo boings when she pauses it, though, and her status bars are the wrong color. :(

Did not notice until the end that the 'friend' was Tatum O'Neal. Had not seen her in so long, I did not recognize her.

It's a tv rule: if a button doesn't make a noise when it is pushed, it isn't doing anything. :)

What an ugly outfit she wore to the party. Pink top, green skirt, and her black bra showing. They have her wear some of the ugliest outfits I've ever seen!

Ah, but it's only ugly because she wasn't wearing the silver high heels...with them, the ensemble really pulls it together!

I think mine "boinged" until I turned it off and maybe her TV tint is just maladjusted.
And, have any of the female posters here ever spent $485 on a pair of shoes? Stunned me.
Posted by: loopey
$485 for shoes: Hell no. That's more than my rent, that's insane.
It's not supposed to boing when paused. I thought at first she hit IR. Maybe she hit that then pause?
Posted by: Lori
$485 for shoes? Um...no. Even if I were a shoe person--and I am not, by any means--I don't see how you justify that.
But that is what Manolo's cost, and someone's buying them, so...

I guess Harry has kept up his back waxing. Butt waxing, too. :D

That dude is one brave actor!

I hate shoes, would always rather be barefoot, and spend as little on shoes as possible. However most of the women I know think I am nuts and feel that $100 shoes are a cheap pair of shoes.

I'm female and could never justify spending that kind of money on shoes, but if I had lots of disposable income, maybe i would.
Oh, i forgot about the back waxing...I was wondering why he wasn't hairy like I'd remember. And i have to say, I definitely cringed when he kept sitting down on all of her white furniture. I surprised she didn't follow him around with lysol....ewww.

Me, too, to all of the above. In fact, we were loading luggage in the car a couple of weeks ago, in the rain. I had already taken two or three things out to the car, when I asked my stepson for some help. It was only as he stopped to put on his shoes that I realized that I wasn't wearing any. :)

I noticed but could not find her in the credits to confirm.

I'm with you on this. It would be one thing if they did something you needed like maybe insulated hiking boots or the like. But $485 just for something that look pretty freakin normal. It's all about status seeking. There is no way you can add enough value in quality to make a shoe worth that kind of money.
Seem pretty sick to me that they spend that money. Buy some keds and give the money to charity. I pretty warped set of values at work there.

$710
I really enjoyed the episode though, the theme of the childless versus those with children is one that comes up often in my circle of friends, and it was fun to watch on SATC.

I found that interesting as well. I have given so many presents over the years. Weddings, bar mitzvahs, births etc. I am single. What do I get back zip. Nothing but good kharma.
Same in my family at christmas. My brother is married with 3 kids. He gets a present. My sister-in-law gets a present. Each of the three kids get presents. What do I get? One present from the family of about the same value as one of the five I give. Do I say anything? No, to keep peace my sister and I say nothing. GRRRRRRRR.

How about : give the 'family' a single gift that they all can enjoy for 1/2 what you normally spend, then spend the rest on yourself to make up for their lame gift. :D
I know, I know, in reality it doesn't work (I face the same problem at the holidays as my brother has a wife and 4 kids...). But it's a nice thought. And I do find that I tend to buy the kids something each, and give the mom/dad a tiny trinket.... But that's just me being a cheap b*****d. ;)
And I finally got even with all my married friends and their wedding gifts by getting married myself. Although I did consider doing what Carrie did and have myself a big "I'm staying single" party long before I met my (future) wife.

Tatum was in the credits, I remember noticing her name (after not recognizing her in the ep).
Nice widescreen TV in Miranda's place ...

I thought the topic was very good. We have similiar debates at work between those of us without kids and those with kids. If I ask to leave work early to take my car to the shop or something like that I get chastised....but Fred can come and go as he wishes as long as little Jonny and Suzy need anything! nah.....I'm not bitter ;)

My favorite moment was when Miranda and the new tenant (Blair Underwood) were uncomfortably watching the interracial sex scene on TiVO. I saw that coming a mile away when she hit pause at such an opportune moment, but it was still funny.
Since this episode was all about the kids/no kids thing, what about the fact that Miranda never seems to have to take care of her child? Even with the help she gets from Steve and Magda, she has way too much free time with a kid that young. She always seems able to drop everything to go to a party or whatnot, and anyone with a kid knows that this is impossible (even with a reliable babysitter). It is not as bad as the neglected baby on Friends, but still.....
Posted by: pmyers
This really was the best episode in a LONG time.
I also liked when Miranda says "I think we all know what's going on here" to the comittee
Posted by: Tori
I think that they have implied that Magda watches Brady full-time during the days, then evenings and weekends are being split 50/50 between Miranda and Steve. She doesn't use him as babysitting, they are sharing custody. We have a friend who has their daughter every other week. They have all the typical parent scheduling issues one week, the next week it is as if they are childless.

That baby is not neglected! She only left it behind when she went on vacation and didn't make a peep about it the whole time! I'm sure it could fend for itself in a NY apartment by itself.
As for Miranda.. she's been late to work because of having the baby. They don't show her ignoring the child, there are in-between moments that aren't seen before she goes out. AND she mentions the kid... unlike Friends.

Must have missed her name. Opening or closing? I thought I looked at both but the opening credits are so jumbled it is easy to miss.
Yes, the plasma is pretty sweet.

Closing Credits.

Dan203 and I (yep got him hooked :) ) didn't think this episodes was all that great...
Posted by: Drewster
I didn't care too much for this episode. Possibly because my 2-week old son was asleep on my chest at the time. :D
Meanwhile, something didn't ring true about the scene with Miranda and the other board members. Then I remembered the episode where Brady won't stop crying and a neighbor brings her The Chair. Wasn't the neighbor black?

I saw him on a talk show the other day when I was flipping through (a non-TV tivo in another room!) and he said the hairy back we saw was NOT his! It was made hairy for the plot-line. Now we have his naturally hairless back to see (too much of, I might add).
