I realize that the standard Tv Grid is patented by Gemstar. A lot of people on here prefer that grid.

Isn't there some way that Tivo could set it up so that we could design our own grids and select what information we want shown. This would loophole the patent and let us have more control. Shouldn't be that hard, similar to the pivot table fields in excel.

It would not be that difficult, it would take some time on their part, and it would be one of those things that not everyone used. So, if it is on their ToDo list, it is way down on the priorities list I would bet.

TiVo probably wants to see features like these as much as we do, but there is so much in this interface that could be done, that they cannot possibly do it all. They are busy implementing more important stuff (like getting two tuners going at once). Once they have an Interface that they like and decide is how it WIL be, then they will probably add cool EXTRA features like this.

But, in the end, I have to say that I agree with your post. That would be cool if the guide was user designable.
