Shows that EVERYONE loves that You've never seen?
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Are there any shows that everyone seems to love and talk about and make reference to, but for some reason or other you've never seen?
For example, I've never seen a single episode of either Buffy or Sports Night. I'd like to, but I just haven't gotten around to it.

Amazing Race

It was the West Wing until Bravo started rerunning them.... now I am catching up.
So now its got to be Everybody Loves Raymond. Never seen a single episode and never had a desire to throw away 30 minutes on one.

Here's my short list of shows that a lot of people talk about that I've never seen an entire episode of:
West Wing
Big Brother
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
Fear Factor
Amazing Race
American Idol
Bachelor
Curb Your Enthusiasm

Buffy
The Wire
Coupling (and probably not going to watch the US version either)

I never watched any Seinfeld. I know that the show is no longer being produced, but it is in syndication. It started in the early 90's when I was working nights. I never watched it when it was on and I have never seen an episode in syndication. I didn't really like Jerry Seinfeld's standup routine. I was never very interested in seeing his show.

Angel
The Mole (think I saw part of an episode once, maybe)
Coupling
Queer eye
Keen Eddie (see lots of threads on this, don't know if it's loved, or just popular for discussion)
shows that I've given a short try, but just don't click with me:
- Alias (started watching late last season, was going to catch up on reruns this summer, but realized that I just didn't care. Maybe if I saw it from the beginning...)
- The Shield (probably because I watch too many other similar shows, and was burned out on the genre when I tried it)
- Raymond (gave it several tries, just don't find it funny. But I watch few sitcoms anymore, anyway)

I've haven't watched ANY major-network prime-time shows in over a decade. Not ER, Survivor, Buffy, Amazing Race, Seinfeld, CSI, or 24 - none of them.
If you want to count UPN as a major network, I do watch Enterprise, but that's it. I think the last regular network series I watched was Hill Street Blues.

What do you use your Tivo to record? :)
Up until now my list would have The West Wing on it, but we started watching them on Bravo. Can't think of any other ones right now.

I'm surprised at the number of people who haven't ever seen Buffy.
You people are missing out.
Posted by: jsmeeker
one more for Buffy.. Sorry, zak.....
Alias (this is bad for me, because it easily meets one of my criteria for watching a show)
Also, ALL of the Sci-Fi shows people mention.. The last one I watched on a regular, conistent basis was ST:TNG. I watched a little "DS9" and "Voyager" at the begining, but stopped a few shows in.

The Simpsons
South Park
and others. I don't even want to see these shows. Call me crazy.

Just curious, but what was it about this vampire show that was so intriguing?

The Soprano's, Sex in the City, and everything else on HBO.
The Mole
Big Brother
West Wing
The Shield
I got into Sports Night and Coupling after everyone here talked of how great they are. It's really true, they're both brilliant.

Buffy
If they ever play it in order from the beginning, I'd probably watch.

Stuff where there's actually some interesting programming - PBS, TLC, Discovery, History Channel, SciFi, DIY, HGTV, Cartoon Network, National Geographic, the various movie channels, probably a few others.
I discovered a long time ago that I wasn't a member of whatever species the major networks target their programming to. :)

Good, intelligent writing that's willing to take chances.

Do you get FX? If so, set a wishlist for "Welcome to the Hellmouth" - that's the first episode. They run the series in syndication over there.

Add me to the Buffy list, never seen a minute of one episode. Really have no desire. Maybe it's me but there's this one person at work that loves to talk TV. She's always talking about shows I haven't watched, and I think that if I watch I may get hooked and end up with more shows to watch. Right now I can watch all that I record, and not have any left on the TiVo.
BTW she always suggested Firefly, then she loaned me a tape of an episode, found it to be boring, and I was glad that I never found that series. I also never got into any of the reallity shows or do I want to. I only have about a total of 13 season passes.

Yeah, they have rerun them in order on FX at least 3 or 4 times now.

You name the Sci Fi show and I haven't watched it...
I've never seen any episodes of...
X Files
Any Star Trek show made after the 1960s
Buffy
Dark Angel
Smallville

Another one puzzled over Buffy, easily the only show I would keep in a world where I was allowed only one...easily.
Be warned though, don't watch one or two expecting to make a determination, if you aren't willing to give it a try, learn the story, don't bother. Oh yeah, and if you don't like paying attention to the plot (an old storytelling term, look it up), dialogue, etc, you will definitely be coming to the wrong place.
For me...
Alias - this is supposed to be "my kind" of show but it just didn't click
West Wing - really tried
Reality shows - loved Survivor: Outback, never went-back
Cable News - is OJ still on there?
Network News - is anything on there at all?
Sportsnight - truly feel like I missed something there, not sure why I've never watched

Any stupid sitcom on CBS (Raymond/King Queens/et all)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Sex in the City
The Sopranos
The West Wing

I really can't believe how many people's lists Buffy made!! Such a great show. So sad its gone!! Definitely try to catch a few eps on FX. ("Hush" and "Becoming" are some of my favorites.)
I've never seen a full episode of Raymond (too many time conflicts with other shows I like/record--don't have DirecTivo)
Any show on CBS or UPN (other than Buffy)
West Wing
Sports Night
Firefly (sorry joss)
Probably not too much more I don't watch...I'll watch almost anything at least once.

4)West Wing

8)FRIENDS===> Tried to watch this show 2 or 3 times. Never made it past 10 minutes. I guess I'm not in the Demographics this show is trying to reach
Other then CSI and Friends. I will try to give all of my above shows a shot this season.
