The Restaurant season finale

OK....I take it all back. No matter how good Mark Burnett is, even he couldn't make Rocco look good. Rocco is a total douchebag! From his putting Peter on dishes and blaming the idea on Laurant, to telling his customer's that Leon (spelling?) is gay, to saying he's never "had" a black married lady, to making an indicent proposal to a newly engaged customer.....what a creep. And that was just in the last episode.

I did find it quite humorous that Gideon missed the bus....litteraly ;)

I'm glad this thing is over. Ended up FF'ing through most of it last night.

well, it seems that there will be a "reunion" type show in the future. Rocco alluded to this at the very end. Something like "come back and see what it's like one year from now"..

It very well may not.. Why? Rocco's on 22nd may not be around a year from now.. The Restuarant business can be fickle, especially when it comes to trendy restaurants. Even ones that get good reviews come and go liek the wind.. I see it all the time out here in L.A.

I have to agree, they bobbled and eventually dropped the ball on this. I still think the concept had promise, but this series was overproduced and most of the people in it weren't likeable.

Ultimately I think they underestimated the audience. A little more reality -- not staged arguments and confrontations -- and a little less American Express plugging could have made the show better. As it was, the best thing about the show was the theme song.

What? No comments about the unspoken cat-fight between the two hot blondes? :P

The end of it sounded like Rocco is going for another season next summer. I think he will be extremely lucky to last that long, but with all the publicity the show generated, there will probably be a lot of tourists flocking to eat there.

that theme song is catchy

oh yeah...Forgot to mention that.. Why did they wait until the LAST episode to show the hot new waitress?

How about the goofy missed the bus scene with the abused-broken arm-guy (name? who cares!) . I saw his broken arm in one beach scene, I guess he didn't really miss the bus? I wonder how much of the show was similarly staged?

I'm with the bus boy, the new stereotype hot blond is hotter. :D

From all reviews, I don't think Rocco's has a chance to be around for season 2 unless Rocco throws his TV income in and Burnett ponies up a bit of his survivor cash too. The buzz from the show will end quickly, then it's just expensive cold and uninspired food served in paper containers with poor service. This is NYC, superior restaurants are a dime a dozen, and most of them won't survive to see one year either.

There was NOT enough footage for the finale...that was evident...the beach party was a snooze...the 12 year old pig-boy playing like he was Casanova was just gross...

And my favorite quote from Rocco, "you only get free food on your anniversary if I get to sleep with your fiance before the wedding"....

And the table of black women with hormones aplenty...I'd have hated to be at one of the waiter's other tables...

I hate to admit I know this, but wasn't that kid the kid Rosie O'donell had on her show all the time? Don't ask me how I might know this, I just think he's an actor/television personality.

It's in a song somewhere that "only stupid people are breeding" and that kid is proof. As a parent, how could you not reign in that spawn? What an obnoxious, repugnant little f@#k! Shame on the enablers who reinforce to that kid that his behavior is somehow "cute."

The bitchy blonde bartender... Another sad human being, but probably prevelant in that world. The bus boy can keep both of the "hot" blondes. Give me the girl next door anyday.

Never has a more true sentence been written here, yet many of us watched every episode. Guess Burnett did something right.

Is Rocco really that bad? Well the answer is yes, I recently caught in episode of Molto Mario on the food network. You could tell from that show he is an a$$.

I'm glad I didn't watch the last two episodes. It seems I didn't miss much. I had a feeling back then that they had run out of material and were now fabricating fluff for the last three episodes. The ending seemed to be really lame.

I will now delete those last two episodes from Now Playing list without any remorse. :)

Edit: Oops, I forgot about jsmeeker's mention of the hot new waitress. I guess I'll FF through them to get to the good parts and then delete them! :D
