A friend of a friend might be upgrading/hacking is series 2 DTiVo. I've found all the information I need to do the actual upgrade/hack (kernel changes and such), so this question pretains to post upgrade state. With this method of upgrading, has anyone notices that the channel icons in the Now Playing List no longer appear?

Yes this is normal I am not sure if anyone knows why.
I never missed em becasue I never had channel logos on my unit.
I upgraded mine about a week ago

I have channel logos on my upgraded HDVR2. I restored an image to a hard drive using the Hinsdale instructions and MFSTools 2.0. I don't have channel logos on an upgraded DSR6000. I don't recall whether the rest of mine have channel logos and all them are currently in boxes. Information I have read indicates that the channel logos can be restored by a hack but I don't really care about having them.
