Help! I was adding a second drive to mive DirectTIVO. It looked like everthing went fine when I got a green screen that said a sevre error has occored. I waited the 3 hours and its still there.
What can I do?

Did you make a backup before you did the upgrade?
If so, restore it onto the drive(s), if not, download an image for your Tivo from the ftp site [Link removed...No images please]

What are your hard drive sizes? If the total is more than 180Gb, see the third post of the Fixes thread above for a way to fix the GSOD.

Yes, I did the backup so stupid me did not check it so I don't know if it is good.
One item I am concerned about is I may have had the jumper set incorrectly when I did the backup (although the mfs add report 141 hours) 40GB + a new 120gb... should I worry about this
Could somone please email (michaelnance@linkline.com) or PM me the FTP link.
Also I did the mfsadd command in Hinsdale. I want to try just putting the original drive in the TIVO alone. Is there a coomand to undo the mfsadd?
Thanks You everyone for your help.

The only way to reverse an upgrade is to restore a backup (if your drive set it working, you can make a fresh compressed backup and thus save your SP's etc).

Robert ..First Thank You very much for taking the time to answer my questions.
Your other post indicated I should look at increasing the swap....but my 2 drives are a 40gb and a 120gb.... Should I look at that first?
Is there any way to recover from this without losing my shows I have recorded?

No, there's enough RAM+swap in your TiVo for the GSOD to complete with 180Gb of disk space, so increasing swap will not help. When there's not enough swap the GSOD reboots after about 4 minutes.
As you took a backup just before you upgraded, your recordings /might/ survive restoring the backup to the A drive, but I doubt it.

Is there anything else I can try before a restore?
All the shows recorded on there were my wifes...not sure if your mairried but I don't want to sleep on the couch!
