Question - Copy/saving Backup

The computer I used to copy/save my backup (which it looks like i need because of the GSOD) Does not have a CD writer. can i connect that computer to my network and copy it over to a WinXP machine then burn it to a CD?

(Seriously, what are you expecting to go wrong? You're just copying a file from one PC to another).

Well since the directions say you can't do this on a WinXP machine I just want to make sure...
so far this has not been a good experience for me.
But your help (With all my questions is REALLY appreciated)

Just didn't know if the file would be messed up somehow from going from one format to another.

No, it's just an ordinary file now. The problems with XP signatures and read-only partitions are no more...

Are no more? there is a way to mount an NTFS partition now that is not read-only? How?
