OK, people have argued the freespace indicator issue into the ground, but here's something that might be a good compromise.

Currently, when you look at a recorded program, TiVo will say one of three things about it:

This recording will be saved until you delete it
This recording will be saved until at least <some date/time>
This recording may be deleted to make room for new recordings

It's this third category most have an issue with. The first two are unambiguous, but the third is a problem. What would be nice (and it could be an "advanced" menu option) would be something along the lines of:

"Based on the current ToDo List, this recording will be deleted by <some date/time>".

Or maybe:

"This recording will be the third recording to be deleted to make room for new recordings". (and maybe a way to change the deletion order of expired recordings)

In other words, something that gives us a better idea about the lifespan of an expired recording.
