Tenchi begins re-airing Fri, Sep 12th, this time on the International Channel and uncut although still dubbed in English. (TiVo incorrectly lists a showing of Slayers, which is ending Fri, Sep 5th).

I wish my cable system carried the Internation Channel (although I already have Tenchi on DVD some of their other anime offerings aren't in my collection.... yet)

I was flipping around yesterday and saw some "Dragonball GT", in Japanese, on the International Channel.

I watched an episode... And since it's not even subbed it made no sense at all... Not that it ever did when it was in english.

In many areas of the country, you can also get Dragonball Z in Spanish. Naturally, I would expect them to make somewhat more sense if you understand the language. :)

It's not my taste, so I don't watch it myself. Nevertheless, I once caught a snippet where I heard, in Japanese: you as for, egg become! And I thought, surely, I must have misheard or my understanding of Japanese is sorely lacking. But, lo and behold, someone was indeed turned into an egg. :cool:

Anyways, devoted Dragonball fans probably know there are episode summaries available on-line.

An excellent question. All anyone outside the company knows is that the official schedule lists “Tenchi Muyo” (dubbed) as replacing “Slayers” (subbed).

Maybe we'll get lucky. With El Hazard, they showed both OAVs twice, “The Wanderers” once, and now will be showing “The Alternative World”. With Slayers, they showed “Slayers”, “Slayers Try”, and “Slayers Next”, respectively, 3 times, twice, and twice, I think.

TiVo now shows Sunday 9/14 as Tenchi Universe. Friday 9/12 still incorrectly lists Slayers, however.

But, in fact, it's the OAV showing now.

Oh well. Turns out TWC here doesn't carry that channel. :(

Since I have most of the Tenchi DVDs, too, I hadn't checked on the International Channel showings recently. I did so this past Friday, and, lo and behold, they were showing Galaxy Police Mihoshi's Space Adventure (宇宙刑事美星銀河大冒険) in Japanese (subtitled in English), which introduces Pretty Sammy. I set up a fresh season pass (necessary because the title in the guide data changed) in hopes that they might show the follow-up Magical Girl Pretty Sammy (魔法少女プリティサミー) stories or some of the other more obscure Tenchi stuff.
