If it hasnt been said here before, if you are using linux as your firewall with squid enabled as a transparent proxy, broadband tivo updates wont work through it. Some part of the Tivo's http request squid doesnt like. My daily call has been failing for 2 weeks, and I just sniffed the packets, and see an error from my squid cache in the packet text.

So if you use linux/squid transparent proxy, make sure the requests from your tivo arent pushed through the proxy ;)

There is a fix for the transparent proxy problem in the UK forum, as some UK ISPs have imposed a transparent proxy on their users. A search should find it.
