Split one large drive into two small

I performed a basic search and found no revelant documents regarding "spliting" one single drive. What I would like to do is take one 240 GB disk and "split" or partition it to act as two disks, IE: two 120 GB partitions. Is this even possible, and if it is has anyone done it? If it is not possible why not? I just happen to have a 240 GB disk.

240? Who makes those?

Anyway, you'll want to start at page 5 of GBL's links - the first 4 pages are people complaining that you can't use big drives!
