I have "Tivoitis". Can I be cured...

...or would I want to if I could.

The other night I was watching some TV and my wife was on the phone. She started saying something that partially got my attention (a very difficult thing to do, I might add). Anyway, before I knew what I was doing I hit the rewind button, but it took a few seconds to realize that, as good as Tivo was, there was no way it was going to let me replay my wife's phone conversation!

I realized then and there that I had contracted some form of repetitive motion (thinking?) disease. I must have "Tivoitis"!

Help me! I've fallen (into the couch with remote in hand) and I can't get up!

If only wives came with a mute button, what a beautiful world this would be http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif

AndyK, if your wife reads this you may need to watch out for the "delete" button.

She doesn't need one, instead she has the mow the lawn/change the oil/repair everything button!

I've had the same thing happen when listening to the radio. I either miss something or want to hear something angain and start looking for the 8 seconds back button.

If lovin' TiVo is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

Try not. Do, or do not. There is no "try".

Other's have called this "the TiVo effect".

I've often had the same sguthrie radio replay-attempt response while driving in the car ... once at a movie theatre and I find it extremely difficult to watch TV at my friends' place as I can't rewind live TV at their place -ever! How frustrating.

But, I must say I've never had an inkling to rewind a human being! That is The TiVo Effect in the Extreme.

It is like Laughing Disease -- there is no known cure.

Inflamation of your TiVo? Sounds like you need a new ventilating fan! http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif (They have been known to fail)

Ignore them, m'dear: They're beneath your dignity.
