Bought SVR-2000 from Ebay, drive is crashed

Hello,

I am now the proud owner of three TiVo's. I am moving to an apartment where I will only be able to get cable, so I bought 2 SVR-2000's off Ebay. My DirecTivo will unfortunately collect dust until my new house is built.

My problem is that one of the SVR-2000's that I purchased does not boot up. It sits at the first screen that says please wait, the recorder is starting up or something like that. I suspect from the noise that it makes when powered on (a couple of loud clicks) that the hard drive is damaged.

Is there a way that I can clone the hard drive on the working unit to replace the dead drive on the 2nd unit?

Basically, I am asking of the mfs tools backup from one unit can be loaded onto a different unit that is pretty much identical.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Yes, no problem there. Just follow Hinsdale.
