I have a SONY SVR2000 with a 3.0 software that I'm trying to backup using the mfstools 2.0. This is what happens when I try to do backup:
Primary Master : WD 60gb / Win ME installed / 3 partitions
Primary Slave : None
Secondary Master : Tivo Quantum 30gb
Secondary Slave : 48X CD ROM
Boot up with mfstools 2.0 cd. HDs report proper size.
mkdir /mnt/dos
mount /dev/hda /mnt/dos
mount: you must specify the filesystem type
mfsbackup -6so /mnt/dos/tivo.bak /dev/hdc
Scanning source drive. Please wait a moment
Source drive size is 30 hours
Backup Image will be 30 hours
Uncompressed backup size: 1153 megabytes
(starts backing up, a few % later...)
Backup failed: /mnt/dos/tivo.bak: Success
What am I doing wrong here?

Try mounting hda1 instead.
You're not working from the current copy of the Hinsdale How-to, get a copy now.

Thank You, Robert S!
hda1 worked perfectly. I was using the mfstools 2.0 instruction, but now I'll go print out the newest Hinsdales' instructions and read it over.
Thanks again.
