Hello all,
I've been searching this forum and finding much valuable insite into my problems trying to get a Linksys WUSB11 (v 2.8) adaptor to work with my Sony DVR-3000. After repeated failures (adapter not seen at all by Sony), I purchased an SMC2662W adaptor at CompUSA, brought it home, plugged it into the Sony and it was immediately recognized. Also, based on my experience setting up, I would recommend changing your access point's default SSID to something other than "WLAN" in case one of your neighbors has also been lazy and left the default, thus confusing the Tivo. Many thanks to all of you for your valuable postings.

Can you post your smc model number? I have the smc 2662w adapter but i cant get it to work. I dont have the sony dvr :(

As far as I know, SMC2662W is the model number. I will be out of town until this weekend, but at that time I will try to post any info I have about the version number.

that is the model, but i think there is a V1, V2, and V3 version.

Just got back into town and checked the bottom of my SMC adapter. It is the SMC 2662W V.3. Hope this answers your question.
