This show just gets better each time I watch it.
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
I was suprised that the had Colin die and I had no idea that Colin's parents knew about Colin not wanting to come back it anything went wrong.

Great episode -- they didn't wimp out, that's for sure.

I felt sure that Colin had to die. Otherwise this season would have been a rehash of last season. Now they have a whole wealth of stories available about how the town handles his death. Not well, so far.

Praise Allah, Yaaweah, and Mickey Mouse, Colin didn't survive!
I was so sure they were going to keep him around and that was the last thing they needed. The Brown family needs to remain the primary focus of this show and Colin was getting WAY too much attention last season.
I liked Colin's sister and it sounds like she will be a permanent part of the cast.

Gutsy decision for a TV show. Generally an excellent episode, even though Colin's parents did Dr. Brown no favors by hiding the fact that Colin didn't want extraordinary measures taken to resuscitate him.
Mmm, Andy and Nina. That's going to happen sometime this season, even though you knew from the second she introduced herself as his neighbor that they're going to hook up... eventually. (Her errant husband and Jane Krakowski's psychologist were mere distractions to keep the romantic tension going.)

First off, Great episode. I loved the fact that they actually killed Colin, and didn't drag it on any longer (of course, the actor signing on to a different show made the decision easier I'm sure). The death will give the characters a lot of dramatic places to go this season. Good move.
Second, Andy and Nina is another reason this show is great. They could spark something up, or not. The show doesn't d*ck us around with a will they or won't they, it just presents them as too compatible adults living their lives.
Third, I love the parallel between Andy last season and Amy this one. Both torn up by loss, and both seeing visions of their loved ones. Ephraim was certainly right, his dad does know how Amy feels...

I completely agree that Colin just had to die. I didn't even think for a second that they would keep him around.
I am curious how the Ephram/Amy story will work this year. She says that she still wants to remain friends, but I imagine that it will be very difficult for her to do so. Especially due to the fact that she doesn't seem willing to let go of the blame that she places on Dr. Brown. It is too bad that the Hart's didn't back up the doc through his hard time, but that couldn't really be expected, they had a lot to deal with themselves.
I am really looking forward to the rest of this season. So far, so good :) (and thank god for easyview... too many conflicts this year :)

I guess I am in the minority- I like Everwood, but there are times the show really makes me groan. I give them credit for killing Colin off, but I just don't buy the whole everyone-hates-the-doctor storyline. Would that really be the reaction of the WHOLE town? I mean, there was no middle ground- pretty much everyone hated his guts, to the ludicrous point of not wanting him to drop off his son at your house, or eating in your restaurant.....
Am I the only one who found this ridiculous?????? I just hope they move on quickly from the town's reaction to Colin's death- so far, a better title for this show thus far would have been "Colin" instead of "Everwood".......
But I agree with alot of others- I do give them credit for not wimping out and keeping him alive......... Just my two cents.

Well, it looked like, at the end of the episode, that everything was back to normal. It seemed that the speach in the gym did what it needed to do. I think that the reactions were extreme, and too one-sided, I agree. I also think that if everything was okay again at the end of the show, then that was another extreme reaction. You don't just go from friend to hate to friend again just like that... There is more of a process to it. But hey, It is one of my favorite shows, so I can't complain too much.

One thing you have to remember is that it's "small town america" and small towns typically have small mentalities. If your already an outsider of sorts and you kill off the star kid on the football/baseball/basketball team people are going to turn against you. Having spent way too many years of my young life growing up in a small town you see how they can be. it's freaky, but it can be really good at the same time. everyone knows everyone and that of course leads to everyone knowing everyone elses business practically. it's not all bad but if you royally screw up you almost have to move out of town and go somewhere else to find any peace.
