New Season, New SP Conflicts

OK, for those of us with only one SA TiVo conflicts can be torture; after all few of us want to dust off their VCR or worse yet watch TV in real time.

Last year the 24 / Smallville conflict was tough, but relieved by Smallville's EZ View. That conflict has been removed with the time slot change for Smallville.

So, what new conflicts do you all have, and what will you do? Some for me:

- The OC (potentially) butting up against Will and Grace. The OC will win; I'll catch W&G in reruns

- Smallville against That 70's Show. Game, set, match, Smallville

- Paradise Hotel / The Next Joe Millionaire versus Everwood. PH / Joe, catch Everwood on EZ View

- Lyons Den versus the revamped Practice. Tough call for me. The Practice was great, but IMO got pathetic sometime around when Bobby married what's her name. I'm leaning toward Lyons Den, but I'm really not sure. Opinions?

(eek, I don't think I'll be watching any of those shows! I'm so TV saturated...)

It looks like there is a L&O conflict with Poland. For now I'm choosing Poland, since from my POV it looks like the most promising new show, and because I already have the 2 L&O spinoffs and reruns up the wazoo to fulfill my L&O needs. (Plus, I hugged my TiVo when it showed that an actressy gal who I went to high school with, for whom I set up a WL, just in case, is in Poland, NH! Coolness!)

The only other conflict I know of now is the stupid NBC stuff, though since I'm now a Survivor watcher, I only have to deal with setting up a manual recording for ER, which now overlaps with CSI by 1 minute. I like ER, but I'm getting kind of tired of it in the general realm of things, and CSI wins hands down! Actually, I suspect that it's the same timing as last year, but they just gave correct schedule info this year. The beginning of my ER recordings were always cut off last year, and it didn't ruin my viewing experience.

I have two SA's. On Thursday I have a 4-way conflict. Survivor(win), Friends, Smackdown and the new Threat Matrix. Not sure about which three will win the other spot, but I might do Threat Matrix. I don't think it will survive going against the final season of Friends and Survivor.

I won't notice any conflicts until the new season really kicks in. Most shows aren't even on my 'To Do List' yet. I also have a DirecTiVo though. 2 tuners makes for less conflicts.

Paradise Hotel is almost over, after this week, only 2 episodes left before the season finale when "ONE COUPLE WILL WIN THE ULTIMATE PRIZE"...l love how they all are fighting to be the last couple standing when the only thing they know is that the prize will be "ULTIMATE". I would laugh if the "ULTIMATE PRIZE" winds up being some type of crap prize...like first class airplane tickets home rather than coach! :p

Smallville vs Enterprise - winner Enterprise, but that assumes Smallville still repeats on Sunday.

I don't remember what Angel will be against.

I can't think of any other conflicts.

So far (fingers crossed) with my dual tuner DirecTivo I haven't come across any conflicts. I'm up to 41 season passes right now, probably have 5 or 6 more shows I will add that air beginning in October. I previously had a SA Tivo unit, and now I have no idea how I made it with only one tuner/unit. ;)

AFAIK, Smallville won't be repeating anymore on Sundays. I believe that they are running Smallville: Beginnings instead....

I've got a four-way conflict on Wednesdays: Angel, Bernie Mac, The Bachelor, and The West Wing. Thank god for four tuners!!

3 DVR's Networked together equal no Conflicts for the Jones Clan ;)

I vacillate between jealousy of you with multiple tuners and relief that I'm not spending even more of my live in front of the TV!

2 DirecTiVos upgraded to 106 hours each - 4 tuners.

3 feeds of each of the Big4 Networks (Greensboro locals, NY & LA distants) and my local WB, UPN and PBS stations.

Conflicts ? HAH, I scoff at conflicts :D

We have 3 Tivos. With a little planning and an Excel spreadsheet, conflicts and having to watch live tv or decide only to watch one thing is a VERY rare thing, indeed. Having to CHOOSE which show to watch instead of watching everything I want? Perish the thought!!!

Looks like my conflicts on my DTiVo are:

Sunday
10/8, Cold Case, American Dreams

Wednesday
Ed, That 70's Show, Enterprise

Friday
Hope & Faith, JAG, Boston Public

Hopefully it will all work out as I decide to cancel the new shows from my SP list.

Does anyone know if Enterprise is being replayed later in the week like last year?

Three-way for me with The West Wing, Angel, and Jake 2.0.

At least I have 2 SAs and 2 VCRs.

Could be worse.

That depends on your UPN feed,...

Yep, I was considering picking up Jake 2.0, but that would have meant a 5-way conflict. No way I'm getting the VCR into the mix! ;)

Same here. But I believe West Wing is going to be in HD this year, so I'll probably watch that one live and DirecTiVo the other two...

2 TiVo's with HMO and East and West coast feeds of NBC, WB means no conflicts for me.
