Survivor All-Star Show

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

My Survivor Wishlist picked up Entertainment Tonight tonight, and they said there's an all-star show in production. Here's the quote:

And how 'bout this? They've started production on an all-star Survivor for next year. It features some of your favs from the past.

Sounds pretty cool. I just hope I don't have to wait until next summer for this one.

I think I saw something about a premier date in February... I don't remember where I saw it though:(

I hope rudy is on it

from the May 22nd Cincinnati Post online edition,

Among those reportedly asked to play the game again are Tina Wesson, the 42-year-old Knoxville, Tenn., housewife who won the "Outback" version that also featured Bingham, who finished fifth. Catty Jerri Manthey, also from "Outback," has been contacted. Others reportedly asked to return include Survivor 1 winner Richard Hatch and his "teammates" from the original, Rudy Boesch and Susan Hawk, and Africa winner Ethan Zahn.

Also rumored to have been invited or courted are Hunter, Gina, Rob and Sean from Survivor: Marquesas; Clay, from Survivor: Thailand; Colby from Survivor: Australia; Lex and "Big Tom" from Survivor: Africa.

My only guesses as to who will be included in the All-Star cast are
Richard Hatch
Rudy Boesch
Susan Hawk
Roger Ward
Alica Calaway
Tina Wesson
Jerri Manthey
Ethan Zahn
Kelly Goldsmith
Gina Crews
Sean Rector
Rob Mariano
Tammy Leitner
Clay Jordan
Helen Glover
Rob Cesternino

Seeing as how it's just a guess, I'd be willing to say that I have half the All-Star cast correctly identified... That isn't to say this is who I'd want to see, but who I think, should MB ask them to, would agree to go another round in the game...

what do the rest of you Survivor freaks think??

ugh

I don't think that any previous winners should be on it. (Unless they do a cast that is all previous winners and almost-winners, which could be very interesting.) Truthfully, I'd rather see a cast made up of people voted off early. There are so many people we saw almost nothing of, it's a shame to give even more air time to those who got plenty of it already. But I suppose that's not the cast that would get big ratings.

Truthfully, I wish they'd wait until they've done 8 regular seasons, and then have a cast of 2 from each season, each from different tribes, each voted off early enough that they don't really know the other person. I know this will never happen, though.

We always thought this would be a fun idea, if they brought back the #3 and #4 people from each show... that way it's people we know, who play the game pretty well, and who came close to winning, but it doesn't become a "second chance" for one of the runners-up.

However they do it, I'm sure I'll be watching, LOL.

Jeff Probst was on a local radio station this morning. He said they have picked the "All Stars" but have not even notified them as of yet. They will start filming in 6 weeks. He said it would be a tropical location but would not give any more information. It will be Survivor 8 so it should be shown on TV in Jan.

I wish they would release DVDs of the previous seasons before season 8. I've seen most of 1 (missing the first few eps), all of Thailand, Amazon, and the very end of the one before Thailand. I'd love to see the seasons I missed before seeing the all-stars version.

I'm kind of disapointed that this will be taking the place of a regular season of Survivor, instead of being a special extra. At least they're not doing a celebrity version...

They announced the All Star survivor during Amazon.

My personal wish list is Colby from Survivor: Outback and Rob and Mateo from Survivor: Amazon.

Richard Hatch wouldn't stand a chance in hell of winning. He would have a giant target painted on his back from day one.

I'd like to see Colby, Rudy, and Gina all come back.

That seems kinda weird. Are they contractually obligated to be on the show? It just seems like at least one of their picks might turn it down. I guess maybe they have alternates in mind.

Or maybe they asked who would be interested and picked from them.

Posted by: jerobi

I hope Hatch enjoys his first week, because I'd put him at a lock for the first vote once his tribe is up.

When I first heard about it I was interested, then bored with the idea, but now I'm somewhat interested again. Having 16 people that -KNOW- the standard tactics makes it an entirely new ballgame compared to the tiring theme of 16 fresh faces and a small side twist twice a season.

There were some that reportedly were going to turn it down or ask for a fee. I believe Colby was one that was concerned that doing another survivor may hurt his "career".

I also read an interview with Burnett that said there would be some changes so that the players past performance couldn't be used against him/her. I'm not sure what that means but I guess he wants to do something to make sure the previous winners don't get picked off immediately.

Hunter is a good choice, because he was voted out before he even had a real chance to play the game for long. Is there anybody else you think deserves a chance, anybody who was unfairly voted off too early that should be invited back a second time? Maybe those that were too sick the first time; I'm thinking of the woman from Survivor Africa, can't remember her name, she was a cop and she was voted out because she was so sick. Someone else along those lines?

I would like to see the guy who got all burnt up get another shot at this game.

Dont recall his name however!

I think Mike was the guy that passed out in the fire.

How about Elisabeth Filarski?? I want to see her back... :)

A lot of people want her back, but both her and Coleen are on the record as saying that they would not participate again...

Like I said above, the cast isn't who I'd like to see, but who most likely would agree if Burnet asked them.

I'd rather see her front.

Posted by: Ilovetorecord2

They probably will pick people that they think would be interesting since that is how they picked them in the first place.

It will make for a good show and ratings for those of us that like survivor.

****Gina**** <Sigh> And Michael should get another crack at it: he's the only guy that left without being voted off.

Posted by: cello

I wonder what it's going to be like if they pick the strongest personalities? I predict a 3 month long explosion on my tivo Thursday nights. Should be interesting...

I'd actually like to see ALL sides of her again! :)

Rudy from the first one is still my all time favorite. There was just something about him. If they bring Rudy back they'd almost have to bring Richard back. The comment Rudy made about him were great. Can't wait for my TiVo to get here so I don't have to rely on someone to tape Survivor on nights I have to work.

I'd like to see Roger. Not just because I live in Kentucky, I thought he was a good person and would be fun on an all star reunion.

Posted by: ccouger

Roger or some other participant who showed some real heart would be a nice addition. I wonder about this latest bunch of survivors. There doesn't seem to be anyone like the older crowd who always add some depth of life experience and become the mentor to a younger member. Though maybe because this edition was supposed to be tougher, they might not have wanted anyone above a certain age. But, with the All-Stars, who knows? I'm sure it'll be anything goes.

Great point about Michael! Who knows how Survivor: Australia would have turned out if he hadn't been injured?

Mmmmmmm.......Elizabeth............mmmmmmmmmmmm.

BTW - she's now Elizabeth Hasselbeck - she married the brother of the Seahawks QB. I saw her on some random TLC show or something. Still hot as ever...

Tim Hasselbeck is her husband - he was released by the Eagles during the last round of cuts to get to the 53 man roster on the 31st...

Didn't Roger from the Outback series get booted in a tie breaker??? IIRC two of the women tied for votes, and couldn't decide which one would leave. They thought it would be decided by a competition between each other. But they chose rocks out a bag or something, and even though he wasn't voted,Roger was included in the game, and he lost.

It would be good to see him get another shot.
