If I buy 2 tivonet cards and put them in my Direct Tivo's can I move recorded programs between them.?

If not what does the TivoNet get me.?

You can do this, but unfortunately we can't talk about it here because it falls under the realm of 'video extraction', which is a verboten topic on this forum.

I guess you could consider it extraction. But, if the Series two allows it why would it be verbotten. I am just making my series one work like a two.

And if I had been paying attention to the deal they had a while back to upgrade a Series 1 to a Series 2 and move the Tivo lifetime we would not be having this conversation.

Thanks for the insite. Which forum can we talk about the the stuff we cant talk about.?

A series 2 only works like that if you pay an extra fee. ;)

As for sharing shows between series 1 DirecTivos, I don't think anyone's taken the time to develop that. Getting the devices connected is the easy part. Once they're connected, you have to tell them what to do. That ain't easy.

As far as this forum is concerned, you can control your Tivo using TivoWeb and get your program data via the internet. Since I have no phone line, I needed the network interface to get program data.

Actually, it has been done. I won't post the link here for fear of upsetting the forum gods, but if you PM me, I will send you the appropriate URLs.
