Tivo Sries 1 on a wireless network?

I'm thinking about buying a used series One Tivo. Since here is no phone in the bedroom, is there a way I can connect the Series One to my LAN with a wireless access point?

Buy a wireless access point, an airnet card and a wireless card. Alternatively buy an access point, a turbonet card and a wireless bridge. See the add from 9thtee above.

You can also get a wireless modem jack and hook one end up to a phone outlet in another room, and the extension up to the TiVo. Just make sure you get one that is modem compatible.

How does this ... connect the Series One to my LAN with a wireless access point?

A wireless modem jack won't convert your TiVo modem into a network device capable of communicating with your LAN.
To answer your original question:
We recommend the aforementioned TurboNet / Bridge solution for two reasons:
1) you can still use the TurboNet for a higher-performance wired solution if you choose
2) you do not have to worry about reception or an external antenna if you are using an 802.11 card in your TiVo
More information on networking your TiVo is here:

The specific bridge we like is here:

(It is the linksys 802.11 wireless gaming adapter)

Thanks for the info.
I already have My series 2 hooked up to my wireless G acces poit using the USB network adapter. So all I need for the series one is the PTV upgrade and the linksys game adapter?

Essentially, yes. You might be better off with a G version of the bridge (depending on what you want to do), instead of the B version. We have a few available (they are not on the site, but will be vshortly.)
