Big Brother Finale discussions (non-spoilers)

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

So at the end of Friday's episode they talked about the finale and what the chain of events will be. Here is from the CBS website:

quote:
The jury will return to cast their votes and to confront Alison and Jun. Then, they will screen the entire season for the first time…and have the opportunity to confront each other as secret strategies and Diary Room entries are revealed. Finally, the votes will be revealed, and one person will win BIG BROTHER 4.

What does everybody think about the evicted guests voting and THEN getting to watch the entire season? I was under the impression that they were going to watch the season and THEN vote.

I didn't realize they were going to view Diary Entries. In fact, I thought that was a key point in the Jury's voting this year.

If the Jury gets to see some/all of Alison's Diary Room entries, she's going to lose in all likelihood. Ali's made some fairly tacky comments in the Diary Room while Jun's have been fairly tepid in comparison.

well it looks like they have to vote first THEN they watch the show/diaries.

This is an attempt to get the vote from the sequestered jury (as in Survivor) and also get the reactions to what really happened in the diary room (as in previous BB's). I think it is a great idea, and this will be the first time that the cast sees the shows as a group, so we will be able to see their reactions to what Allison (and others) did to them.

This is how I have interpreted it all along. They vote based on what they know already. Then after that all of the houseguests including Ali and Jun will watch all the tapes together ( and probably kill each other based on some of the stuff they have all said) and then they will announce the winner. I am not sure if Ali and Jun will know who won before they all watch the tapes or not but I am pretty sure thiks is the sequence of events for the show wed. night. I assume it will be a montage of the jurors interviewing Jun and Ali and then a montage of everyone watching the tapes and killing each other, and then they will announce the winner. This is just my interpretation anyhow!

Yeah, I think if the diaries are watched and the secret confessions are aired before voting there may be some EXTREMELY slanted votes (IMPO... rightfully so) but I think Ali should win based on pure game strategy.

I think Jun would take it hands down if the previous shows were aired before the jury votes.

Ah, I wasn't paying attention. I didn't see that they voted prior to viewing the Diary Room entries.

I'm still thinking Jun will win, though.

The whole season? How many episodes where there? That's gonna take al day.

Naw man, they got TiVo over at CBS. They can skip the commercials and fast forward past the boring parts of this season. Should take them all of 20 minutes to get through it.

It would be nice if they got to vote again afterwards, kind of like a "what if" count. It shouldn't be used for anything though, otherwise future contestants wouldn't tell what they really think in the diary room

I'm sure they will tell us what they would have done, but I doubt it will be a secret ballot. It will probably be something like Julie asking who would have changed their vote after they reveal it.

Too bad they'll still be getting a biased view of their finalists.

I seem to recall that in the first BB the finalist could veto somebody's vote before they did the finally tally. Therefore, they could try to maximize the number of votes each finalist receives. That could work against the finalist's advantage in that the they might think a certain booted player would never vote for them but instead they had changed their mind and voted for them. Does this ring a bell with anyone. They may want to bring that back since it would add another layer to the overall strategy.

I don't recall the veto vote but if that were the format of the 1st season. Would it be a blind vote for who the girls think are voting against them?

For instance, Ali has a quick epiphany about who hates her in the house.... let's say Dana. Ali can then say: "I veto Dana's vote for the winner of BB4".

Right or wrong, that is how it would work?

Posted by: pmyers

that's how it worked for season 2. They could veto somebody's vote but they didn't know what that person had voted.

Actually, that was the second Big Brother. The first one didn't have a Jury vote, it was an "America's Choice" vote, where viewers phoned in to select their pick for the winner (much like American Idol).

I doubt they'll do the veto. Don't ask me why. Just a hunch.
