I found these drives here a few weeks ago and ordered 4 of them, man 200+ hours now on 2 systems :) All of a sudden I'm the TIVO geniuss (pun intended) and my sister my mother and a friend want me to do the same to theirs.

I can handle the upgrades and think I will actually enjoy it. Do you guys think this is a fair price for these drives? I would need 6, would I save that much if I was buying 10? It would be kinda nice to have a matching spare.

If any of these units are Series 1 TiVoes, see the 160Gb thread at the top of the Underground for details on how to get a bit more out of these drives.

Only one is a S1 (T60 my first) the rest are Hughes and Phillips DTIVO S2's that I talked them all into getting. Purely selfish reasons really, now when I visit there's still a pause button :)

I just went with the same company. I ordered 10 for a total $1050.00 delivered. 1.6TB of storage for a grand, I remember my first large drive was a 300MB that weighed about 20lbs for 2 grand and the controller card was another grand.

Man I love this industry.

I see that Pricewatch has 160 gb Samsung drives (which are bare drives) for a little less, just in case you want to know. I've also seen retail boxed drives for less after rebate (but you're limited to only one per household, per address).
