How do I get my Tivo to update itself more often?

I recently purcahsed the 100Mbps adapater for my Tivo so now updates happen very quickly (at least until it comes time to index the date).

Is there any way to increase the frequency in which the Tivo gets updates?? I couldn't find a setting in the menus but maybe I just didn't look in the tight place...

Increasing the update frequency does not help you much because I think the TiVo database is updated daily.

Well I'm considering the Home Media option because I like the feature where you schedule things to record remotely. Howver, the Tivo won't know to record the show you want until it gets a new update. And with the current scheme, it seems to only update once a day.

If I'm at work I want to be able to pull up the tivo site, scheulde a recording and have it on my box when iget home. With the current update frequency, that woulnd't work cause the TiVo wouldn't know to record the show until well after it had aired.

Any one else doing this??

From TiVo Central Online - Frequently Asked Questions

How soon before a show airs can I schedule a recording?
If your TiVo DVR connects to the TiVo service through a regular phone line, you can request a show up to 36 hours before it is scheduled to air. For faster handling, connect your TiVo Series2 DVR to broadband and request a show as little as 1 hour before it airs.

Note: If you're using a regular phone line and know you have pending Remote Scheduling requests, you can manually connect to the TiVo service by going to TiVo Central > TiVo Messages & Setup > Settings > Phone & Network Setup. Connecting to the TiVo service sends your scheduling requests to your Series2 DVR.

In a nutshell, it checks for remote scheduling updates approx every 15 minutes, and checks for guide data updates approx once a day.
