Looking for a couple of drives to upgrade a GXCEBOT, and an HDVR2.

What is the current recommendation (brandwise) and the place for the best prices ?

Are people using 7200RPM drives now ?

To replace the HDVR2 drive do I need anything else such as a new fan or special connectors ?

You may look at the main thread to see the success stories. I just posted one there. I just added a 120 GB 7200 maxtor (from Best Buy) to my GXCEBOT. works like a charm! I got mine for $100 after rebates.

I just bought a 160GB samsung drive from newegg $112. Plan to replace my HDVR2 drive with it. Not sure if it is easy to add it in that unit.
